Things which you learn at the end of Teenage

"We all get to see, who we grow up to be"

-Blue October (Home)

Teenage is when we all get a blur idea of how the rest of our life is going to be. It is like a ride of experiences, heartbreaks and struggles and you never realize how fast it ends. At this point, your dreams are big with small plans. And at the end, with a head full of hope and a moment to think, you understand that life goes on, no matter how worse it gets. Friendships, dreams, journeys, etc everything has to end, nothing is permanent.

Here are some of the things which many of us realize till the end of teenage.

1) Not all friendships are permanent.

We all had a long list of people whom we called 'BFFs' at some point of our life. But how many are still in our contact? Well, BFF aren't always forever. Its no one's fault why people go apart when then grow old, it is just the time which changes the equation of the relationships we need at a particular phase of life. Although, there are 2 or 3 people who never drift apart, no matter how old the friendship gets, but still the magic does end at some point.

2) Young dreams are stupid.

Once, we all wanted to be someone else. Rock-star, Astronaut, Cricketer, etc the list was endless.
But at the end, we all ended up taking Science and Commerce. Again, it was no one's fault but the dreams that we have when we are young are just illogical. We all run behind ways of making easy money when we grow up and while running, all our young dreams get left behind.

3) Priorities change.

We all had a phase when we were obsessed with something which we couldn't get. We spent most of our time trying to achieve it but most of us couldn't. But its okay, we all somehow move on and find something worth working for. The world never ends. Every day, you can begin a new story. There is so much to achieve in this never ending world.

4) Growing old is tough.

While growing up, life around us changes a lot. Life becomes fast and cruel and un-reflective, and we get too busy counting our gains instead of going after the idols of our youth. It might turn out to be okay, but sometimes it gets worse. You turn into a completely different person other than you were as a child. And it surprises you when you realize how far you have came while transforming yourself just to prove your worth.

5) Everyone is nostalgic.

Even if some adults refuse to agree the fact that they miss memories from the past, but they do. Everyone is nostalgic. Nostalgia, after all is an attempt to preserve all the beautiful things from our past. And what good is your future if you don't have anything to look back, wait for a while and smile at it. The truth is, although we are excited for the future but when it arrives, we look back and realize all the good things from the past. Sometimes, we crave for our past, for our old friendships, old love remembering how wonderful it was to be with those people. You make million memories with them and think about them till your last breath.

6) Silence is an option.

While growing up, you figure it out if you are introverted or extroverted. And it isn't wrong to be anyone of them. Not all of us need people around to be happy. Sometimes we need silence. Alone in a room with coffee, music, a book or a movie, seems to be heaven. There comes a time when we don't need people, we just need us. That's the time when you realize the difference between alone-ness and loneliness.

7) It always gets worse.

We work hard so that tomorrow it will be easy for us to survive.  But the future is never easy. We have to work hard in every part of our life to be alive in the rat-race. And maybe that's what staying alive is all about.

8) Not all stories have an end.

We all have some questions which are going to remain unanswered forever. Some phases of our life are like that book which we are excited to read and complete as fast as we can but we don't. I don't know what happens but suddenly, somehow we stop looking for the answer. Not just once, this happens a lot of times. The good part is, as we grow old, these incomplete stories and all the unanswered questions don't bother us anymore.

And, no matter who you are, you do find something worth working for as you grow old
Like a river flows slowly to the sea, somehow we go somewhere we are meant to be. :)
